With the 60-day deadline set in the Islamabad memorandum having ended without results for Tehran and Washington to reach a comprehensive agreement, Donald Trump said the Islamic Republic wants an agreement, but is not willing to accept the conditions desired by the United States. He emphasized that Washington does not intend to extend this memorandum.

Trump also, while referring to the Strait of Hormuz, said that if it wished, the United States could declare this waterway its own territory.
