🔹Going to cafés and restaurants is a kind of pastime and a small comfort for people, though inflation and rising costs have caused many to do without even that.

🔹In this rising cost and inflation, how much money do we make to go toward entertainment? We work from morning to night, and we can only pay the rent.

🔹On Monday, 19 Mordad 1405, I went to the dentist; the cost for root canal treatment of a tooth was 12 million tomans. There’s no money left for other things like entertainment and going to cafés.

🔹Can you even go to a café with this inflation? The cost of two drinks and one cake for two people comes to 1,200,000 tomans.

🔹For a long time now, expenses such as going to cafés and restaurants, entertainment, and travel have been eliminated, and only essential costs remain—treatment, food, rent, and even medical expenses only for necessities.

🔹We’re trying to be able to prepare two meals. Going to cafés has become very unattainable for us.

🔹We’ve been left behind in covering ordinary and mandatory expenses. At one point—not too long ago—we went to a café or restaurant three times a month. Now we don’t have the purchasing power for our essential needs, and we’re buying on credit.

🔹We’ve become dependent on the bread of the night. Where was the money supposed to come from to go to a café and eat outside? Buying fruit has become our dream.

🔹If we consider only an espresso in the morning, the monthly cost is between 6 and 7 million tomans. Now calculate how much must be spent for café hopping.

🔹We can’t go to a restaurant or café even once a year, because I’m a retired teacher and I only pay for medicine and doctors on credit.

🔹It’s been about one to two years now that we haven’t had the ability for entertainment and leisure time. I think most of society is only fighting for survival.
