🔸A senior UAE foreign ministry official announces the halt of all trade exchanges and financial transactions with Iran.

🔸Afraa Al-Hameli, the director of strategic communications at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement: «In light of the intensification of regional tensions that undermine regional and international peace and security, all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran have been suspended until further notice.»

🔸This UAE official also rejected «all claims about the status of economic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Iran», but did not provide further details.

🔸The statement was released on Tuesday evening, 27 Mordad, and about an hour after the country’s Ministry of Defense said it had identified «two ballistic missiles fired from Iran». Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson called the issue «baseless».

🔸Iran has extensive economic and financial relations with the UAE, and prior to the recent war, UAE ports were the source of imports of a large portion of goods into Iran. Nonetheless, relations between the two countries have been marked by tension since the start of the 40-day war.
