A video received by Iran International shows a memorial ceremony for Ali Hashemi, a prisoner and one of the detained protesters in the National Uprising protests of Dey (December 2017/January 2018), held in the village of Shesh Javan in Isfahan, in a security-controlled atmosphere.

According to information received by Iran International, Ali Hashemi was arrested at his father’s home on 25 Ordibehesht this year, and after about a week it was determined that he was being held in Isfahan Central Prison.

According to a source close to his family, initially the family was told that Ali would be released by paying a bail/fine, and they had prepared the amount in question, but later they were told that they should wait for the formation of a court.

However, on 28 Mordad, Ali Hashemi’s family was informed that he had been hospitalized at Alzahra Hospital in Isfahan. The reason given for the hospitalization was “cardiac arrest,” and after the family went to the hospital, they were told his father that Ali had died.
