❌〰 Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, on October 7:
They knew exactly what I would do. They knew that I would activate the air force there, wake up the entire Israeli army, and not allow anyone to get close to the fences—we killed them immediately.
The public doesn’t know this, but there were many, many, many signs that an attack was about to happen.
The chief of the joint staff, Herzi Halevi, knew it; the head of Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, knew it; and Halevi, who was the head of military intelligence, knew it.
Now, the obvious task is to wake up the prime minister, but they didn’t wake me up.
If they had woken me up, everything would have looked different. And this is the story of October 7.
