Trump: We will respond to Iran’s attack on Jordan; the leaders of the Islamic Republic must be tried

🔸 The President of the United States announced on Monday, 9 Shahrivar, that the country’s army would respond to Sunday night’s Iranian attacks on American forces in Jordan, and called for the trial of the leaders of the Islamic Republic on charges of “crimes against humanity.”

🔸 A Fox News reporter said that, in response to these attacks, Donald Trump stated: “We will strongly target them. The response is on the way.”

🔸 The remarks come as the United States on Sunday night targeted Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the purpose of the attack was “the IRGC’s mine-laying forces.”

🔸 In the statement, it was announced that American forces “carried out a precise and limited action against IRGC mine-laying forces, which was an imminent threat to the Strait of Hormuz.”

🔸 According to CENTCOM, Iran was the source of the threat, and the United States acted to “protect non-military vessels and commercial shipping.”

🔸 The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed that the American attack left casualties and promised a “response.” Hours later, Iranian media reported a missile and drone attack by the Islamic Republic on two military bases in Jordan and one base in the United Arab Emirates.

🔸 The United Arab Emirates denied that its soil was targeted for an American base.
