🔻CENTCOM commander: The mental state of sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln is better than that of sailors on other U.S. ships
Brad Cooper, chief of staff of U.S. Central Command, said in a message on the X social network that the psychological well-being of the people aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is better than that of others serving on other ships.
The CENTCOM commander’s message comes in response to reports about extreme fatigue among sailors aboard the Abraham Lincoln.
These reports indicate that many of the troops stationed on this aircraft carrier are experiencing mental health problems.
Cooper said that among the eleven active U.S. ships, the people aboard the Abraham Lincoln have the lowest level of mental health problems.
Recently, some family members of certain Abraham Lincoln sailors expressed concern about the worsening of their mental health status due to current conditions, and reports also emerged about some sailors trying to jump from the deck of the ship.
The U.S. Navy, while confirming problems in providing supplies, denied the existence of a mental health crisis aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. About five thousand people are on the ship.
Their mission on this ship, which is moving in the waters of the Middle East, has been extended.
The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has been at sea since last November—about 10 months ago, or more than 250 days.
