🔻 The commander of the Missing Persons Search Committee of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that three Iranian pilots are being held in Qatar and asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to help clarify their situation.
Brigadier General Mohammad-Bagher Zadeh, in a letter to Mirjana Spoljaric, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross—published by Iranian media—wrote: “Two Sukhoi 24 fighter jets on 11 Esfand 1404 (2 March 2026), set off toward a combat mission for the enemy’s military base located in the country of Qatar,” but “upon returning, due to the enemy air-defense strike, the pilots eject.”
One of the four pilots, Majid Kazemi, was escorted for burial on Friday, 9 Mordad, and laid to rest in Shiraz.
However, according to Brigadier General Bagherzadeh, “the other three pilots of the incident were taken alive into custody by Qatari forces.”
Before Iranian officials and media, they had spoken about “efforts to verify the status” of these three pilots.
