🔶 "Damage from the war to residential and commercial units has been 37 trillion tomans"

Majid Joodi, deputy for reconstruction and rural housing at the Housing Foundation, said on Wednesday, 28 Mordad (19 August), in an interview with IRNA that the war has caused damage of about 37 trillion tomans to residential units, commercial premises, and essential items of people in 25 provinces of Iran.

According to data from the deputy for reconstruction and rural housing at the Housing Foundation, so far more than 140,000 damage assessment cases have been filed, of which about 110,000 cases relate to residential and commercial units, and nearly 35,000 cases relate to households’ livelihoods and essential items.

Joodi added that repair operations for 63,526 units have been completed. Of this number, 47,363 units required minor repairs, 14,438 units required medium-level repairs, and 1,725 units required major repairs.

According to the deputy of the Housing Foundation, about 1,200 units also need complete reconstruction, for which construction of 358 units has started and reconstruction of 13 units has been completed.
