🎥 Four-year prison sentence for Hivā Seyfizādeh, an Iranian vocalist
Hivā Seyfizādeh, an Iranian vocalist and singing instructor, says that her primary court has sentenced her to four years of commensurate (تعزیری) imprisonment on charges of “inciting corruption and prostitution.” The case dates back to events on the night of her performance at “Opposite Mansion” on 9 Esfand 1403; a performance that was halted after the entry of officers. She asks how reciting a few verses by Saadi could be considered evidence of such an accusation and says she will pursue the ruling in the appellate court.
