🔶 Kayhan newspaper calls for military operations to break Iran’s blockade

Kayhan newspaper, in a note titled “No work of understanding; today’s agenda is breaking the blockade,” described the agreement between Iran and the United States as “defeated and lacking credibility” and called for military action to end the blockade of Iran’s ports.

The newspaper, citing a written message attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei, the new leader of the Islamic Republic, accused the United States of repeatedly violating the memorandum of understanding and claimed that Washington has used the agreement to secure its own interests, transfer energy from the Strait of Hormuz, and buy time for Israel.

Kayhan criticized Masoud Pezeshkian and Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf for defending the agreement with the United States and wrote that emphasizing an agreement that America has violated could be perceived by Washington as a sign of weakness and could pave the way for further attacks on Iran and its infrastructure.

In the note, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has been asked to allow the armed forces to carry out broad offensive operations to break the blockade.
