🔺 Dollar just one step away from 214,000 tomans; Central Bank claims reserves are sufficient

▪ The price of the dollar in Iran’s open market rose to 213,700 tomans, and dollar remittances reached 218,000 tomans. Each British pound was also traded at 289,000 tomans.

▪ Today’s figure is the fourth consecutive record over four working days. The dollar closed on Saturday at 206,400 tomans; on Sunday it reached 208,000 tomans, and on Monday it rose to 210,000 tomans.

▪ Alongside the new records in the currency market, the Governor of the Central Bank said at the 36th Islamic Banking Conference that Iran does not lack foreign currency and that the claim of an economic collapse is false.

▪ He added that the Central Bank allocated $500 million to the market last week and is now ready, if needed, to inject up to $2 billion in foreign currency.
