Donald Trump, the U.S. president, told Fox News that the United States will respond to the Islamic Republic’s overnight attack on American forces in Jordan. The U.S. president said: “We will hit them very hard. We will respond.”

Trump pointed out that all the missiles, except one, were intercepted by the United States’ air defense systems. According to him, it was determined that the one missile was not going to hit an important target, and for that reason it was allowed to pass through the airspace.

The U.S. president said the Islamic Republic is strongly eager to meet, but he does not know whether one can count on them to reach an agreement or not. However, he added that the current U.S. sanctions against the government of the Islamic Republic are having a strong impact.
