🔻Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, first wife of King Charles III of Britain, told the BBC that the media’s treatment of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan shows aspects of what happened to his sister.

He described the media’s impact on the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as “cancerous” and said people should “learn lessons” from the example of Diana.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently returned from California to Britain, six years after stepping down from royal duties.

They have repeatedly criticized the media.

In an interview with Laura Kuenssberg about whether Diana also faced such media pressure, Earl Spencer said:

“‘If you look at an article in a tabloid newspaper about Diana or the couple you mentioned—Harry and Meghan—you can see that they can be really, really unpleasant.’”

“I think it’s up to the people to learn from the example of Diana.”

He said: “I’m not here to speak on behalf of Harry and Meghan, but anyone who is being destroyed every day like this should have a cancerous effect on his life.”
