Eghta Hosseinian, an economic journalist and energy reporter, referring to the announcement by Masoud Pezeshkian, president of the Islamic Republic, about the third phase of the increase in gasoline prices from 5,000 to 10,000 tomans, said that the effects of this price hike could become visible in less than a month in the costs of goods, transportation, and services, and would put additional pressure on people’s livelihoods.

He added that raising the price of gasoline does not solve the problems in this sector, and its main goal is to create a source of revenue for a government that is facing budget deficits and limitations in access to foreign currency.
