Financial Times, citing two individuals close to the Iranian government, reported that the Islamic Republic, if fighting were intensified by the United States, is “considering attacks on military targets of this country in southeastern Europe, including Bulgaria, as well as Cyprus.”
These sources close to the Iranian government said: “If the United States goes too far, the Islamic Republic may also target objectives in Europe.”
Financial Times also, citing these sources, added that the Islamic Republic’s forces, in the event of an escalation of hostilities, have “also considered attacks on undersea fiber-optic cables in the Strait of Hormuz.”
