🔶 Financial Times: If fighting resumes, Iran will expand attacks to Europe
The Financial Times reports, citing people close to the Iranian government, that Tehran has considered targeting U.S. bases or military equipment in Europe if hostilities resume.
According to the British newspaper, military facilities of the United States in Bulgaria or Cyprus could be targeted. Both countries have provided military bases to the United States.
The Financial Times writes that during the war that began on February 28, Iran was able to fire a missile toward the Diego Garcia airbase in the Indian Ocean, at a distance of about 4,000 kilometers. This has been presented as evidence of Iran’s ability to fire at points very far away, including nearly anywhere in Europe. However, analysts say the increase in missile range is likely to come at the cost of reducing the weight of the warhead and, as a result, lowering the amount of potential damage.
