🔶 Finland’s president says a Russian attack on NATO territory is unlikely

Alexander Stubb, the President of Finland, pushed back against concerns raised in Germany about the possibility of a Russian attack on NATO territory by 2029.

Stubb told the German newspaper “Bild”: “It would be great if someone had such a crystal ball for predicting the future. But I simply see neither evidence for this nor a reality that would confirm it.”

In comments published by the German newspaper on Sunday, August 30 (September 8), Stubb said he does not believe that Russia “would ever want to attack the world’s strongest military alliance, meaning NATO.”

At the same time, Stubb warned that the threat from Russia should not be underestimated, saying: “You should always be prepared for the worst case so that it can be prevented from happening.”
