🔻Following attacks on ships in the Black Sea, Turkey summoned Ukraine’s ambassador

Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that following attacks last Wednesday on two ships of this country in the Black Sea, it summoned Ukraine’s ambassador in Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, on Wednesday, August 26 / Shahrivar 4, the Turkish ship “Leader Bordo Mavi,” near the Russian port city of Tuapse in the Black Sea, was hit.

The news agency, quoting sources in Turkey’s foreign ministry, says that the day after this incident another ship that had been dispatched to tow that vessel was also targeted.

According to these sources, Turkish officials, while expressing their concern about the recent incidents, emphasized the need to ensure the safety of life, property, navigation, and the environment in the Black Sea.

Yesterday, Russian media reported that a cargo ship belonging to Turkey flying the flag of Cameroon, carrying fresh vegetables from Samsun port in Turkey to Tuapse port in Russia, was hit by three Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea, causing a fire and injuring at least five crew members of the ship.

Russia has blamed Ukraine, but Kyiv has not taken responsibility for these attacks or responded to them.
