🔸Following the intense protests by Mahsa Amini’s parents, the young woman whose death occurred at a “guidance/charity” center (Gash-e Ershad) set off the Women, Life, Freedom movement. Ahmad Aryaeenejad, a member of the Iranian parliament, apologized for his remarks about Mahsa Amini’s death while in custody.

🔸This member of parliament had said, in a televised debate some time ago, referring to Mahsa Amini that she “has joined the Almighty,” and that she had “incited” months-long “riots.”

🔸The insult prompted a reaction from Mahsa Amini’s parents, who on Sunday, 25 Mordad, while less than a month remained until the anniversary of Mahsa, published a unified text on social media in which they criticized this lawmaker.

🔸Majd Amini and Majgan Eftekhari, in this statement addressed to this lawmaker and the entire government, wrote: “May your tongue be severed; you turned a country into oblivion, and not only have you not gained wisdom and prudence, you have not even had the slightest shame.”

🔸In their message, these two emphasized: “Our daughter’s name, alongside thousands of other innocent people, will remain immortal forever in the history of this country.”

🔸Following the publication of this message, the lawmaker from Malayer in parliament posted a video in which he apologized for what he had said.
