The European Union intends to intensify its sanctions against Russia in the coming months. According to Kaja Kallas, the EU foreign policy coordinator, existing sanctions against Russia have caused the country losses of more than 500 billion euros.

Kallas added that the new sanctions, which will be implemented this fall, will be the broadest sanctions that the EU has imposed since the beginning of Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.

The EU foreign policy official stated that pressure on Russia will continue until the country is willing to end the war in Ukraine.
