🔶 Gulf countries are seeking a “review of relations with Iran”

According to the Financial Times, the Gulf countries want to review their approach to Iran. After the war revealed these countries’ vulnerability to attacks from Iran and damaged America’s standing in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates stressed the need to adopt a “new perspective,” and Qatar called for the creation of a regional “security framework” with Tehran’s participation.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the prime minister of Qatar, described the war against Iran—launched by the United States and Israel in Esfand 1404—as a “wake-up call” during a conference on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

He said the Gulf countries should “act responsibly and in cooperation with one another as a region and ensure that they have good relations with Iran.” He added: “We are working to achieve this goal. Our regional partners also believe in it.”
