🔸 HRANA: At least 159 detainees from the protests of Dey are being held in Yazd Prison

HRANA news agency, in a report, has stated that “at least 159 of those detained in the nationwide protests of Dey 1404 are still being held in Yazd Prison.”

The news outlet of the Iran Human Rights Activists collective, based on its own investigations, has announced that a number of these detained citizens “face prison sentences ranging from seven to 15 years, and dozens of others are still awaiting the outcome of their cases without a final ruling.”

According to this report, many of these citizens were arrested during the protests of 18 and 19 Dey and afterward in Yazd, and were transferred to prison.

The report adds that about 94 of the detainees from Dey are being held in the two wards “temporary and isolated” in the men’s section of the prison, and the rest are being kept “in wards 7, 15, the judicial ward, the women’s ward, and other sections of this prison.”

In an HRANA report, it is stated: “Among those facing heavy sentences, young citizens are also present, and at least some of the convicted were 18 or 19 years old at the time of their arrest.”
