Following threats by Iraqi militias to attack Saudi Arabia again, the spokesperson of the Iraqi armed forces emphasized that the use of this country’s soil for threats against neighboring countries will not be allowed.
Sabah Al-Na‘man said that any threat carried out from Iraqi soil toward neighboring countries is an illegal act.
Iraqi officials promised that firm legal measures will be taken against the perpetrators of these actions.
The spokesperson of the Joint Staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces also emphasized that the security forces, using all capabilities, will prevent any incursion that is launched from Iraqi soil.
The recent attacks by militia groups supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran on facilities in Saudi Arabia were met with widespread condemnation in the region. The move was met with airstrikes by Saudi Arabia and the United States. Strikes that, according to President Trump, were carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government.
Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) claims that it will retaliate for these attacks.
