Iran’s health minister says India, in response to the Islamic Republic’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, did not send even a ship carrying pharmaceutical raw materials to Iran even during the war.

Mohammadreza Zafarqandi further said that India’s shipment of medical supplies to Iran was conditional on vessels associated with India passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

An examination of trade data from India’s Ministry of Economy by VOA shows that the country exported a total of $130 million to Iran in the first three months of the war—equivalent to only one-third of the corresponding period last year.

Iran’s health minister says that from mid-1404, due to the activation of the “trigger mechanism” for transferring funds for medicine, it faced a serious problem, and after the start of the war, the issue of transporting medicine also became problematic.
