🔶 IRGC says a tanker caught fire after hitting sea mines

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says a large tanker caught fire in the south of the Strait of Hormuz following a strike by sea mines. In a statement, the IRGC Navy said that a “super-tanker violating” regulations early on Monday, 9 Shahrivar, after being hit by “two sea mines,” suffered “horrific fires” and was left unable to move.

The statement said that at the time of the incident, the super-tanker was passing through the “illegal route” in the south of the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC Navy warned ships about disobeying the regulations issued by the Islamic Republic and said: “The fate of ships that violate the security regulations of the Strait of Hormuz will be nothing other than this.”
