The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that, in a joint operation in Saravan County in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, it identified and dismantled a “terrorist team” that, according to this institution, was connected to the United States and Israel.
According to the public relations statement of the IRGC Ground Forces’ Qods Headquarters, this operation was carried out on Saturday, 7 Shahrivar (29 August), with the participation of the General Directorate of Intelligence, the IRGC Intelligence Organization, and Faraja (Law Enforcement Force) in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
The IRGC claimed that the members of this team were targeted “as soon as they entered the area,” during which “one member” of the group was killed and “six members and other supporters” were arrested.
The statement said that “20 packages of explosive materials and related explosive items,” along with “a large number of light and semi-heavy war weapons,” “light and semi-heavy ammunition,” and “Starlink communication equipment” were discovered from the group.
