Ismail Saghab Isfahani, head of the Optimization Organization, said in a television program: “Due to wartime conditions and the restrictions we are in, we must consume gasoline in proportion to production. We have a daily shortfall of about 14 to 15 million liters of gasoline, and consumption must be reduced by that same amount.”

He continued: “If the consumption of fuel by domestic cars were similar to that of cars in the modern world, Iran would not face a gasoline imbalance.”

Saghab Isfahani added: “Importing Japanese cars will cost less than importing low-quality, cheap, and assembled Chinese cars.”
