🔸Joint order by Germany and the Netherlands to purchase new armored vehicles

Germany and the Netherlands, as part of their ongoing defense cooperation, have ordered 69 new armored vehicles; a new armored vehicle that the German army calls the Schakal.

The order follows last year’s contract and is being carried out through the "European Defence Industrial Development Programme" organization (OCCAR); an intergovernmental body established in 1998 that manages joint defense equipment and armaments programs.

It has been decided that the armament consortiums KNDS and Rheinmetall will build 69 other of these combat vehicles, which are a wheeled tank type named "Boxer RCT 30" (۳۰ Boxer RCT 30), for the German Army and the Netherlands Army.

The German Army will now receive 35 additional armored vehicles, thereby bringing the number of orders for the "Boxer RCT 30" to 150 units, while the Netherlands will receive 34 more.

The "Boxer RCT 30" is a wheeled tank variant equipped with a 30-millimeter turret that is used on combat vehicles.

According to reports, this combination makes it possible to engage moving targets even while the vehicle is in motion.

According to a statement by the "European Defence Industrial Development Programme" organization, this military vehicle is expected to be one of the main systems of the German Army and, in addition to the 30-millimeter gun, will also be equipped with an anti-armor missile system.

Florian Hoehenwarter, CEO of the armaments consortium KNDS Germany, said that this program is part of the development of the new generation of infantry combat vehicles in the two countries, and that this joint order is an example of Europe’s defense cooperation capacity.

According to him, joint procurement and increasing the number of orders can help with faster delivery, greater coordination in training and logistics, and the interoperability of the armed forces of the two countries.
