🔸 Israel delayed Cairo talks on implementing the “Peace Committee” plan in Gaza

According to The Jerusalem Post, Israeli officials have delayed talks among mediators regarding the implementation of the “Peace Committee” plan to facilitate Hamas’s disarmament and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza, citing considerations over reaching an agreement on Gaza’s fate after the war.

The report, citing Palestinian sources and based on a report by the Arab media outlet Al Sharq Al Awsat, was published.

This source told Al Sharq Al Awsat that negotiations were supposed to be held in Cairo last week, but ultimately they were canceled, and no new date has been set yet due to Israel’s opposition to the proposal.

Earlier, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, had said that Israel had not agreed to the plan supported by the United States for the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday evening, August 4 (13 Mordad), Netanyahu said in a video posted on his social media accounts that Donald Trump’s team, the U.S. president, “believes it can achieve Hamas’s disarmament and make Gaza non-militarized.” He said: “We are looking into this.”
