José Raúl Mulino, President of Panama, said at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, the first of Mehr, that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz indicates “inability to enforce international laws and find solutions in the early stages when crises emerge.”

Mulino said: “For me it was very easy not to talk about the Strait of Hormuz, because the Panama Canal has benefited as a result of the situation in this strait. But I am never, on a matter as sensitive for the whole world, influenced by profit-minded considerations.”

He added: “The impact of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is not only attacks on innocent people, including ship crews, but also that millions of people face shortages of food, or are forced to pay more to buy food and chemical fertilizers.”
