Massoud Pezeshkian’s son: Don’t enrich—we won’t die

🔸Yousef Pezeshkian, the son and media adviser of Massoud Pezeshkian, the president, in a new remark, while emphasizing that he is not opposed to the enrichment of uranium, wrote: “Our lives are not dependent on enrichment. Don’t enrich—we won’t die.”

🔸Yousef Pezeshkian, who is also his father’s media adviser, raised this new statement on Saturday, the 7th of Shahrivar, on Instagram.

🔸He explained it this way: “I’m not opposed to enrichment. Whatever decision ‘they’—the Supreme Leader and the leadership—make, I will follow. The only point is that we should know the dimensions of our decision and make it with awareness. A rational person weighs the pros and cons of something, then decides.”

🔸Yousef Pezeshkian continues: “We have more important technologies that, without them, our security and governance will face problems, but we don’t have any program for them. We’re not so stubborn about them.”

🔸This issue was not allowed to go unanswered by the government’s opponents, especially in the Payādari front.

🔸These kinds of remarks from the president of Iran’s son have previously led to debates and arguments in Iran’s political atmosphere; to the extent that last month the Tabnak website wrote about it: “A media assistant must understand the consequences of the words, writings, and messages they publish or convey; they must know what to say, when to say it, and with what kind of language….”

🔸The issue of insisting on nuclear enrichment—which has repeatedly led to the escalation of international sanctions against Iran—has long been among the criticisms leveled by the government’s opponents. They say that nuclear activity in Iran, which has involved the spending of tens of billions of dollars, has not produced any remarkable results for the country so far.
