⚡Nasrin Sotoudeh, a lawyer and human-rights activist, has said that the ban on her visits with her imprisoned husband, Reza Khandan, is continuing because she has not complied with mandatory hijab.

Ms. Sotoudeh wrote on her personal page: “Today, for the 100th time, they prevented my meeting with Reza. Since 1389 to now—whether when I was in prison or now that Reza is in prison—I have been deprived of the right to meet because I did not accept mandatory hijab.”

Referring to the anniversary of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, the lawyer emphasized: “I told them that you kill people for two strands of hair. Killing is wrong, not immodesty. Visitation is the right of a prisoner.”

Nasrin Sotoudeh, a Sakharov Prize winner, has for years faced suppression and imprisonment for defending political prisoners, women’s rights, and for opposing mandatory hijab.

Reza Khandan has also been arrested and imprisoned on multiple occasions due to his civil activities and support for human rights.
