Nasserollah Pejmanfar, head of the Principle 90 Commission of Iran’s Islamic Republic Majlis, announced the formation of a joint government-parliament committee to resolve disputes over the transfer of Saipa shares.
He said the Ministry of Economic Affairs is seeking to sell the remaining 16.8% of Saipa’s government shares, along with 42% of the shares of this company, which are held by companies affiliated with Saipa.
Pejmanfar added that the Principle 90 Commission, the Industries Commission, the Guardian Council, and the legal deputy to the President oppose the transfer of the remaining government share and the full privatization of Saipa. He also said there are “deeper disputes” over the justice shares.
