🔶 NATO on alert; a Spanish fighter shot down a drone over Romania

A Spanish F-18 fighter early on Sunday, August 16 (25 Mordad), as part of a mission assigned by NATO, shot down a drone over Romania.

In this regard, Romania’s Ministry of Defense said that the drone had entered the airspace of this country illegally. It is considered the fourth drone that has been shot down over this country this year.

The drone was shot down following its identification by radar at 4:44 a.m. During the identification, it was determined that the drone had entered Romania’s airspace from a neighboring country, Moldova.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense did not provide information about the origin of the drone. The wreckage of the drone fell shortly after 5 a.m. in a non-residential area in the Galați County region.
