🔻Nick Kyrgios, the controversial tennis star from Australia and a former Wimbledon finalist, was temporarily banned from taking part in tennis competitions after testing positive for cocaine.

🔹The 31-year-old player, during the 250-point tennis tournament in Mallorca on Tir 1, 1405, provided a test sample, and on Tir 26 an approved laboratory of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirmed the presence of “benzoylecgonine,” a cocaine metabolite, in his sample.

🔹The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) said that due to the nature of this substance, mandatory provisional suspension was applied, and this ban begins on Mordad 13.

🔹The final length of the suspension depends on whether the use of the substance occurred during or outside the time of competitions. Kyrgios also has the right to appeal.

🔹Kyrgios, by posting a message on Instagram, accepted responsibility for the incident and said: “Recently, during Mallorca, my doping test came back positive for cocaine. I made a big mistake, and I fully take responsibility for it.” He apologized to his family, fans, sponsors, and especially the children who follow him.
