🔶 "Possibility of a Surprise Attack by Iran Before the Midterm Elections"

The Washington Post, by publishing a report, has warned that the Islamic Republic may intend to carry out a surprise attack on energy infrastructure or U.S. forces before the November midterm elections and thereby seek to raise the political costs of war for Donald Trump, the president of the United States.

In his column, Mark Thiessen of the newspaper also noted that, despite the extensive damage the Islamic Republic has suffered during U.S. attacks, it still has sufficient capability to threaten the energy facilities of the Gulf countries, U.S. bases, and ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In another section of the report, the Washington Post has raised the possibility that the Iranian government, before the upcoming elections in the United States in November, could make use of this capability in order to increase the global market price of oil and, at the same time, by attacking American forces, push Washington toward resuming the war.
