🔻 Raisi’n Iraqchi’s talks with the foreign ministers of Oman and Egypt about resuming talks and reducing tensions

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, spoke in separate phone calls with his counterparts in Oman and Egypt about developments in the region and efforts to reduce tensions.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry says that Araghchi, in a conversation with Badr al-Busaidi, Oman’s foreign minister, discussed “the appropriate conditions for resuming talks” and also developments related to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Oman has been one of the main mediators in talks between Iran and the United States in recent months. Negotiations between the two countries are currently on hold.

The Iranian foreign minister also discussed the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea, as well as the latest diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region, in a phone call with Badr Abdelatty, his Egyptian counterpart.

The calls come as Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, once again emphasized the need to end the situation of “not war, not peace,” and said that problems can be resolved “with strength, but with logic” through negotiations.
