Reuters, in an analytical report, wrote that as the war with the United States reached six months, officials of the Islamic Republic have acknowledged an increase in pressure on Iran’s economy. Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of the Islamic Republic, said that sanctions and the U.S. naval blockade have reduced exports and imports by about 35%, and that annual inflation has also reached 66%.

Majtaba Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, called on the government to address inflation, unemployment, and living-conditions problems. At the same time, the administration of Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has intensified economic pressure and sanctions related to Tehran.

Alongside these pressures, diplomatic efforts continue. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar, emphasized in Tehran the return of the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz to the situation prior to the war.

Tensions over this waterway continue. Trump says the Strait of Hormuz is open, but the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has rejected the claim. Preliminary data shows that on Thursday only seven cargo ships passed through the strait.
