The United States Southern Command, SOUTHCOM, announced that a U.S. Air Force C-17 cargo aircraft carrying aid and essential equipment for relief efforts to earthquake victims has departed for Colombia.

According to SOUTHCOM, this move is part of a humanitarian operation by the United States led by the U.S. Department of State.

On Monday, 19 Mordad, following the earthquake in Colombia, Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, announced that the United States stands with the people of this country and is ready to support Colombia in the relief process and in addressing the consequences of this incident.
