🔶 Telephone call between Qatar and Syria’s foreign ministers about regional developments

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in a telephone call with Assad Al Shaibani, Syria’s foreign minister, discussed regional developments, bilateral cooperation, and also diplomatic efforts in line with the implementation of the Tehran-Washington understandings.

In a statement released on the social media platform X on Sunday evening, 16 August (25 Mordad), Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the call, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized the need for all parties to adhere to diplomacy, negotiations, and the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the understandings between Tehran and Washington. He also stressed ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in order to preserve regional security, defend the achievements attained, and strengthen regional stability.

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said that Qatar fully supports all efforts to reduce tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that would lead to lasting peace in the region.
