🔶 The death toll from the deadly and terrifying Himalaya floods has passed 600

Nepal police said on Saturday, 7 Mordad (29 August) that 616 victims’ bodies have been found so far. The number of fatalities in Nepal had been announced on Friday as 586. The deaths of seven people were also reported in China’s Tibet region, and as a result, the total number of victims of the incident has reached at least 623.

The search-and-rescue operation for missing people is still ongoing in the affected areas. Rescue workers in Nepal and China’s autonomous Tibet region are still searching for more than 2,400 missing people. Widespread mudslides and the risk of further floods have made rescue and recovery operations difficult.

Many survivors, family members, and all their possessions have been lost.
