The head of the Ports and Maritime Affairs General Directorate of Hormozgan announced that cleanup operations in contaminated areas along the coasts of this province have ended, and the status of the coasts is under monitoring.
The claim comes after a series of earlier announcements. Shina Ansari, the head of the Department of the Environment Protection, wrote on X on 22 Mordad that cleanup operations had begun and part of the Susa coastal strip had been cleared.

Based on TankerTrackers analysis, a spill from a bulk carrier is reported to have been targeted by an unidentified projectile on 12 Mordad, about 20 miles northeast of Khasab, Oman. The company wrote that the oil slick was then driven across the Strait toward Iran and called it a “self-inflicted wound of the Islamic Republic.”
