⚡The President of Azerbaijan pardoned a French citizen who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with a spying charge.

According to the Azerbaijan Press news agency, Martin Ryan, who was sentenced in March by the Baku Criminal Court of Serious Crimes, was among 20 people who were pardoned under a decree of Thursday by Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.

In July, the French foreign ministry condemned Ryan’s prison sentence after rejecting the allegations made against him, and called for his immediate release.
