The US Department of Defense has removed from command Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza, commander of the US Army’s V Corps, ABC News reported.

The zone of responsibility of the Army’s V Corps includes organizing operations in Europe and maintaining US military presence on NATO’s eastern flank. The importance of the V Corps grew amid the conflict in Ukraine, because it helps coordinate military aid to the Kiev government.
