🔻 Barak Ravid: Iran’s negotiators are waiting for final approval from their country’s Supreme National Security Council

Barak Ravid, an Axios reporter, citing a diplomat from one of the intermediary countries, wrote on X that Iranian negotiators are waiting for their Supreme National Security Council’s approval in order to finalize an agreement with Oman and the United States.

The diplomat said: “We expect this approval to be issued soon.”

Reuters also reported, citing a U.S. official, that progress has been made in talks between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, and that Washington expects that a “soon” agreement will be reached in this regard.

The official said that after an agreement is announced that would guarantee the unimpeded passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will lift its blockade of Iranian ports.
