Trump says he is ready to meet with Pezeshkian; “Big things will happen soon”

🔸 U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday, September 29, that big things about Iran would happen soon, and he announced his readiness to meet with Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, in New York.

🔸 In an interview with Trey Yingst, a reporter for Fox News, he said: “I’m in a position of decision, and in the not-too-distant future, very big things are going to happen.”

🔸 Trump added: “The options are: wipe Iran out entirely, let it be destroyed economically, or reach an agreement.”

🔸 He also warned that Iranian officials should improve their behavior.

🔸 Fox News’ reporter said they asked the U.S. president whether he is prepared to meet with Pezeshkian, who is traveling to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly. Trump, in response, said: “I’ll probably be ready.”

🔸 Iranian media had previously reported that Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to New York this week at the head of an Iranian delegation to deliver a speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

🔸 These remarks come hours after the Central Command of Khatam al-Anbiya said, based on “information received,” that with support from some countries in the region, the United States is preparing to resume military actions against Iran.

🔸 In a statement from the headquarters affiliated with the General Staff of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces, without mentioning details or providing evidence, it claimed that the United States “has once again decided, with the green light of some countries in the region, to restart measures against Islamic Iran in a joint session in one of the European countries.”

🔸 Donald Trump, U.S. president, on September 26, said in an interview with the Axios news website that he was approaching a sensitive point in the war with Iran, at which the United States would have to decide whether to launch broad attacks against Iran or not.

🔸 However, in the following days he said several times about Iran’s efforts to reach an agreement with the United States, while emphasizing that he would not accept a “bad deal.”
