🔶Trump: The three-hour meeting between U.S. representatives and the Iranian delegation went very well

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, says that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, his special representatives in negotiations related to the Iran crisis, met with members of the Iranian delegation for three hours this morning, Eastern time (Tuesday, September 22), on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, and that another meeting has also been scheduled for “very soon.”

While meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, Trump told reporters that in the meeting with the Iranian delegation “things went very well.”

Regarding Iran’s options, in an overt but implied threat against the Islamic Republic, Trump said: “I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t reach an agreement. Their options are either the potential greatness and splendor, or complete destruction.”

An hour after these remarks, Trump also spoke at the United Nations General Assembly of a “major decision,” the decision “to make an agreement with Iran that would allow them to rebuild their country and turn it into a much larger and more powerful country than it was in the past… or to destroy them and do it quickly.”
