🔶 U.S. approval for arms sales of about $2.7 billion to Ukraine

As Russia’s attacks on Ukraine continue, the United States has approved the potential sale of air defense equipment worth at least $2.68 billion to Ukraine.

The move comes after Kyiv’s repeated requests for additional support to counter Russian attacks.

The U.S. State Department has told the country’s Congress that it has made this decision to strengthen and expand Ukraine’s air defense and the related equipment and services.

The ministry says that Ukraine is seeking the purchase of equipment, including various types of missiles, launchers, anti-drone countering radars, and support trailers.

This arms deal must now be reviewed by Congress.

Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, has seen an increase in Russian attacks in recent weeks, and the country’s air defense systems have been facing difficulties due to a critical shortage of ammunition to counter these attacks.
