🔻Ahmad Ariyanijad, a representative from Malayer in the Iranian parliament, in a televised debate, described the killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini using an insulting term and called the protests after her death “eight months of unrest.”

These remarks were raised in Tehran Municipality’s media outlet (Hamshahri).

In a portion of his remarks, when referring to Mahsa Amini’s death in the Guidance Patrol’s custody, Mr. Ariyanijad used the phrase “to reach one’s end and be brought to the eternal abode,” a wording that drew a reaction from Mahsa Amini’s family.

In joint stories on social media, Mahsa Amini’s father and mother called the statements by this parliament representative “insulting” and said that such remarks do not diminish the worth and standing of their daughter.

They also, referring to their daughter’s death in Shahrivar 1401 and the widespread protests that followed, emphasized that Jina’s name would remain permanently in the history of Iran.

Amjad Amini, Mahsa’s father, wrote in part of his message: “Our daughter’s name, alongside thousands of other innocent people, will be immortal forever in the history of this country.”

Mahsa Amini, 22, from Saqqez, in Shahrivar 1401, after being detained by the Guidance Patrol in Tehran, went into a coma and died three days later in the hospital.
